Toilet bowl refill tube coming from wall

Hi, does anyone know why I have what looks like a toilet bowl refill tube coming from the wall (with the water supply line) and into the tank? Once in the tank, it connects to the refill tube that's already there. What is this?

Is it to flush a urinal?

No, it's a regular toilet

is there a floor drain close by? i've seen trap primers connected like that. if there is, have someone flush the toilet while looking in the floor drain... look for a splash of water when its flushed

I would say that you are absolutely correct! I have seen this done from a sink in a laundry, but never from a toilet.
Seems to me like a clever idea!

Thanks guys. So is the water in this tube flowing into the toilet or away from it?

It flows away from the toilet and replenishes the water in the floor drain trap.
The water needs to be replenished as floor drain traps tend to have the water evaporate, due to lack of use!
