toilet base on uneven tiles

Hi, I am putting a new toilet in. All else is done, the tile floor and plumbing. When I dry fit the toilet, I realize that the toilet base is not totally stable on the tiles, there is maybe a 1/4" unevenness.

My question is how do I level that out? by wooden shims? Would the wood get wet and moldy?

thanks

We use plastic horse shoe type shims or a lead sheet to shim toilets. You can also use this Sioux Chief product from Home Depot http://www.siouxchief.com/Resource_/...lar/C46010.jpg composite shims http://www.amazon.com/SHIM-COMPOSITE.../dp/B002LCWGSO also sold at home improvement stores.

Another option is matching the grout on the tiles, pulling the toilet again, and setting the toilet onto grout. Once you clean the edge and it hardens, it'll look great and never wobble
