I have a new bath tub installed with tile walls. The 1/2" copper water supply to the faucet is stubbed in and a brass adaptor soldered to copper supply line. Now the problem; the adaptor is larger than the diameter of the hole cut in the tile and therefore, the faucet, when threaded onto the adapter, will not seat against the wall. There remains about a 3/16" gap.
Does anyone have any ideas how to enlarge the hole in the tile without damaging the remaining tile? Remember, there is a brass adaptor soldered to the copper pipe seated against the tile. I have not closed up the wall on the backside of the tub so I have access from the back.
