Tie into main kitchen stack

Hi all,

I'm an avid DIY'er, but I'm new to the forum - hopefully someone can answer 2 questions for me.

I'm installing a sink in our kitchen island, and for the drainage I need to go through the floor and then tie into the main kitchen stack in the basement.

Question 1: Should I tie into the main stack as high as possible, or as low as possible? Or does it matter? There is nothing else tied into the stack in the basement, so this run would be below everything else.

Question 2: There will be 30'+ of DWV pipe (I'm doing a 'round-about' to avoid cutting into the joists, or taking up headroom) - will 1 1/2" ABS suffice, or should I go with 2"?

Thank you in advance!

Kitchen drains need to be run in 2" pipe. Be sure to keep the line pitched 1/8" per foot. As for tying into the stack it shouldn't matter since you're not tying into a vent right?
