Is there any black PVC ?

Old drain pipes in my yard. Elbows are white and pipe is black. It is the old thinner walled stuff from years past. I don't see this stuff around any more. The elbows are marked PVC but there are no markings on the black stuff. Is it ABS for sure, or was there some black PVC? Pipe is more than 20 years old.

Is there any black PVC ?

Got to be a mix of black ABS and white PVC. I'm not a pro plumber, but I've been an avid DIYer for more than 50 years. I've seen several colors of PVC pipe, but never black. That must be ABS. There is a "glue" for the two.

It is possible that the fittings that were used were schedule 80 PVC while the pipe is only schedule 40. It is an odd combination due to the more expensive cost of the fittings. I have seen this done when the schedule 80 fitting is readily available an the schedule 40 is not. Schedule 80 is a stronger and more expensive. It is also dark grey in color. There is no reason that the combination wouldn't work in a situation that only required schedule 40. The outside pipe diameters are the same.
