how do i test waste pipes after roughin them in.

It depends on your system, normal way to do it is to cap or plug all the pipes in the system, you then go to the highest fixture, put a stand pipe on it approx. 10ft high, fill it up to the top and see if the water level drops, if it does, you have a leak, you can also use air but it is harder to find leaks.
