Teflon tape or teflon pipe joint compound?

I am installing the faucets in my bathroom and was using this Teflon pipe joint compound. It seems to work pretty good, I can always remember not knowing if I had enough teflon tape on the threads, or sometimes I had too much and it wouldnt tighten enough, etc. This paste kinda takes the guess work out of it. Any reason why I shouldnt be using it on all these connections?

Teflon tape or teflon pipe joint compound?

Age-old question, tape or compound?
Use the one that you like best that works for you...6 of one, half dozen of another, IMHO.
I use both (but usually tape). If you use tape, just make sure that you wrap it clockwise only as the threaded end faces you so that screwing on the fitting won't undo the tape.
