Not exactly the same thing, but I tapped into my water supply line to install a yard hydrant. It's about 20 feet from the house. I did not need a second pressure tank anywhere.
You will have to do something about the check valve. Since at the time I didn't yet have my plumbing final inspection, I couldn't remove it. So I took the guts out of it instead. That was four years ago and it's still that way. And I didn't have to add a check valve anywhere else.
