Symmons Temptrol shower valve

Lack of hot water staying hot is the problem. Pressure is fine. Rest of the house and other shower with the same valve is fine so not the furnace/hot water supply. Replaced the spindle assembly and no better. Set safety stop to max . Are there other moving parts that can't be seen/replaced or can these valves get clogged up with hard water deposits limiting the hot water supply?
