Switching from vanity to pedestal sink
I have no experience with pedestal sinks. I'd love to install one where there was once a vanity with sink top. Do the shut-offs need to be moved further up? What about the drain pipe? (My terminology may be off) Are there any pedestal sinks that would accommodate the current plumbing or does it need to be changed?
I've gotten one quote so far:
$200 to move the water lines up and closer
$375 to set the pedestal sink (plus set the toilet)
Is this a reasonable quote?
Those quotes sound reasonable. Around here it is $100 just for any service person to knock on your door!
Then it is YOUR bathroom. Get what you really want. You will look at this everyday, so live it up and get what you want!
Then have them connect it - whatever they have to do...
I think you will be pleased with your decision.
Those connections would work but you may want to move the H and C closer together so that they are hidden behind the pedestal.
