Suplemental hot water heater
I have a Slant fin hydroponic heating system that currently supplies our hot water. It is not very efficient in supplying a continuous supply of hot water. I believe it is considered a tank less system as it holds no more than 2-3 gallons of water plus what is in the lines. I was thinking of adding a Marathon 50 gallon 240 Volt electric hot water heater (foam insulated with resin tank). My Question is, do i isolate this from my current hot water supply? OR can i leave it in line and help reduce fuel costs??

Separate it completely that way you can leave your boiler off all summer. What you can do is pipe the electric water heater with a piping arrangement from the existing heater with a couple valves that way if the electric ever breaks you can open your valves and have hot water from your original system.
