sump pump question

We have bought a house in the country. Although code calls for a sump pump, inspection is very lack. There is no sump pump nor pit. There is a floor drain/catch basin. I can see the weeping tiles( corrugated tube) where they enter this drain. I can also see another tube in the center that must go to the septic tank. It would seem to me that sending clean water to the septic system is bad design. There is no evidence of there being any back up problems. The whole area is built on a gravel ridge and has good drainage. I know the lack of a sump pump should be corrected. What is the best way of doing this without breaking up a lot of floor? Make a pit close to the drain and extend the weeping tiles to the pit? Convert the existing floor drain to a sump pit? Please excuse my ignorance on this subject. I understand city plumbing but this is new to me!

Thanks

If the house is on a high point on the property the drain my go to a dump in a ravine or a dry-well. You may not need a sump.
