Question

sump pump problem


when I connect my back up sump pump to electrical outlet wire gets heated in a minute so much that I have to dissconnect it right away. why this is happening ?

sump pump problem


Usually a back up pump is for when power is lost and the pump connect to 12v battery next to the sump. Are you sure the the pump you are plugging into household voltage is rated for that application?

No, I dont know since it was there when I moved in to the house.
