sump pump alert?

Are there any products on the market that will track how often my sump pump runs?

Bought a new house in June and would like to know if the sump is running very often or never. I don't want an alarm to sound or anything, just someway to track when it is running (doesn't have to be real time).

Maybe i need to look into an appliance energy monitor. That way i could figure out when the pump was drawing electricity and for how long.

Any other thoughts?

Scroll down to rachet counter on this link, and it would count how many times your pump comes on.

Canary, Isnt that ratchet counter just a mechanical counter? How is that supposed to work with a sump pump?

Just connect it to the float arm,and it will tell you how many times the pump comes on,that's what he asked for i believe.
