Sump pump

I need to replace my sump pump. I currently have a Zoeller 1/3 hp. Any suggestions on a good brand. I can't really find any ratings on the net.

Sump pump

My pump seems to have "burned" out. I noticed it was running for a long time. When I went to check on it later it would not come on.

your float valve more than likely had something on it to stop it from functioning properly. If it happens again check your float valve and make sure thier is nothing obstructing it.

I actually did check the float. I pulled the cover off the pit and also checked the switch that the float is attached to. No luck in getting it to run again.

Goulds WS0511BA are 1/2 hp 115v and are good all around cast iron pumps with 2" discharge and piggyback float. (great solids handling pump)

Tsurumi makes an awesome pump as well, for water or effluent only, no solids. We replace alot of zoellers with these two pumps, depending on the application.

Zoellers are damn fine pumps. I also use Stephens from time to time.

Thanks for all of the great info. I went with the Zoeller M53. Actually, that was the model I had to replace.
