Sump pump: 1 1/2 connection to 1 1/4 PVC pipe

I have to replace my sump pump. I notice that it currently has a Wayne 1/2 hp sump pump. (it was professionally installed 10+ years ago, I think.) Anyway, I plan to buy another Wayne 1/2 hp sump pump and do it myself. But I noticed that the PVC discharge pipe that was installed is 1 1/4 inch pipe. Yet the pump connection I see advertised is 1 1/2 inch. I am going to have to buy check valve, too. but my question is: will this work with 1 1/4 inch pipe? I sure don't want to have to replace that pipe if necessary.

and how do I make it work? what parts do I need to buy?

the connectors that come with most check valves will work with 1-1/4 or 1-1/2 pipe.

so, I just put 1 1/2 inch pipe into the sump pump, run it up to the check valve and have 1 1/4 inch pipe coming out of the check valve? and that will work without any problem?????????

To decrease or increase in size a swage is one of the best options for flow and it's too bad they aren't more readily available. They can be found if one knows where to look but in PVC is where it seems to be impossible.

put a 1.5"x1.25" galvanized bushing in the pump outlet.
