Suggestions for 2 head shower control

Pulling the old tub out of my master bath and installing a walk in shower. Saw a picture of a shower the had a regular shower head, as well as a rain head coming out of the center of the ceiling. I liked the idea and figured I could use a shower assembly that included a tub faucet, which I would route up to the rain head. I could use the shower/tub selector to switch between shower heads. What I discovered is that all the tub based assemblies at the local stores utilize a knob on the tub faucet to switch between the tub faucet and shower head. I'm looking for an assembly that either utilizes the single water control for temperature and outlet selection, or a setup with a second selector control that doesn't look goofy and won't break the bank. Any suggestions?

Not the pic, but same idea.

Check with your local Kohler distibutor. They have a shower valve with a push button diverter.

A Moen diverter valve will set you back about $70 with a chrome or brushed nickle handle---

Call or stop in at a plumbing supply house---see what they suggest---getting matching handles will be the challenge---

Was initially looking for a single unit solution, but I like the idea of the 3 function diverter valve. I'm assuming Moen makes matching trim sets for the main & diverter valves? Would I be ahead of the game checking with a dedicated plumbing supply store instead of the local big box store?

Thanks for the quick responses. Planning on jumping into this this week.

Do you have at least a 3/4 supply line running from the source to where the control valve is going?
Your going to need it for flow.

I'd go to the supply house---the Depot doesn't stock anything exotic---

Suggestions for 2 head shower control

at my last place, i redid the shower. since my wife is disabled, she cannot reach up and change the setting on the shower head. so i installed 2 shower heads, one right next to the other. i used a diverter valve control. it has the regularhandle for operation the water. but it has a vale for sending water to one or both heads. let me see if i can find a pic.

Fix'n, that's a nice combo. Closely matches the shower controls in our other showers too. What make/model is that?

Joecaption, they're 1/2" lines. I was thinking the same thing. Looks like I'll have to settle for one shower head or the other.

Looks like I'm looking at the Moen 3300 line of valves. I'm running pex to the valve and was planning to use the same out to the heads, but not finding any models that have IPS connections out. Am I missing something, or do I have to test my sweating skills on a pex CC adapter?

it worked well (i don't own it any more). i don't remember what brand/model it was. but it was a common brand.
