We are replacing the facets in the shower and ended up having to replace the shower stems as well. We have a 3 handle faucet. We took the faucet cap to HD and ware told it was Price Pfister and we could only get a replacement Price Pfister faucets. My husband came home with a remodeling kit that was down right ugly and said it was the only thing that will fit without having to take the whole wall down . Is that true?
I'm already working on the tiles and took out the tiles behind the old faucets because they were cracked. I think I may have extra access room to work than if I had not taken out the tiles ? We saw all kinds of different sizes of shower stems at the store, and can't believe there's nothing we can do to get any other faucets set for our shower just because the original fittings were Price Pfister
We are getting ready to work on it, but I thought I'd ask to make sure before we decide to keep this ugly kit. Any advice is appriciated, thanks.
with creativity and a little sweat, you can put in any kind of faucets you wish. since you already took out tiles, why not go with a different setup? i'd recommend a 'scaldguard' to keep people from being shocked when someone flushes... =o)
google 'scaldguard' then hit the images button to see many different styles
welcome to the forums!
Thanks MD, I knew there's a way. I just went and told my husband that but now he thinks it's safer just to leave the complicated stuff alone and just use the kit. He did try looking for instructions on doing that ,spent 5 long mins googling it on the computer, but found none..so we'll just be stuck with this "thing" I'll try not to look at it when I can. Thanks for your advice, I'll be sure to check out the scaldguard with my next faucet change ( hopefull soon ).
