Stubborn Handle on Hot Water valve
I'm stumped on this. The Hot Water handle in my shower just refuses to come off. I removed the center screw and the darn thing just refuses to release from the valve. (I was able to finaly get the Cold Water one off, so I see hot it "fits" into the knotches of the valve.) There is clearly some mineral build-up that is causing this thing to grip onto the valve assembly.
What are my choices to get this thing removed? I was thinking some CLR to hopefully clear the mineral deposits - but I can't figure out how to get it into the rear of the handle.
The other thought I had was to just take a hack-saw to it and replace both handles (to match).
Are there special tools to remove these handles?
There are inexpensive pullers for removing stubborn handles, available at home and hardware stores.
