Stubborn, dark deposit stuck in toilet bottom.

For years our toilet has had what I assume are calcium deposits but it is a dark color and makes it look like someone forgot to flush. I soaked with CLR and have tried vinegar but nothing removes the unsightly stain. Also, urine has "calcified" around the inside wall of the ring and nothing removes these either. Is there something stronger which will remove these stubborn deposits?

Are you on well water, and one again I find myself thinking "Is this a DIY Janitorial site?"

Oh c'mon! How do you know it is urine that is calcifying? Never heard of a toilet with kidney stones.

Answer the above question and we'll go from there.

What color is this stain really?
How did you apply the CLR?
