strange problem with hot and cold water

This morning hot and cold water stopped running in about half of the faucets and toilet tanks in my house. If it would happened to either hot or cold water I would think the line is blocked, but both hot and cold stopped at the same time and only some lines affected, the half lines are fine and I have one water heater. Can anyone guess what can be wrong?

If flow stops in both hot/cold, the stoppage has to be before the branch to the water heater. Not knowing how your house is plumbed, it is difficult to speculate much further. Could be a filter, water conditioner, etc.

But hot and cold water OK in other part of the house. If blockage would occur before water heater there will be no water there too.
