Strait nipple, quick response appreciated.

I installed a restaurant style sink and faucet. Included with the faucet there is a non tapered nipple that goes from the faucet to the female PEX connector with a nut in-between the nut tightens the faucet onto the SS sink back. I can't get it not to leak. Because of the nut that holds the sink on, the nipple is not tapered. How do I keep this from leaking?

Did you dope and tape it? Could a standard nipple be substituted?

I have installed a few of those---I thought the nipples were standard taper on those--Mike---

Straight nipples usually use a washer in the seat----Any washers in the set?

I had used tape on one end, cause I partly put it together a while back. and I doped up the end with the PEX fitting. Tightened it until I thought something was going to break. Still leaked.

Can't use a tappered nipple, cause then the nut that goes on the back side of the sink won't go on.

But I think I got it, I took off the nipples and put on lots and lots of tape. So far so good.

Sounds like you got it fixed, but i'm not sure without guessing that I could picture exactly what YOU mean by "restaurant style"

Big basin, free standing sinks and drainboard with a 6" high backsplash. The faucet mounts through the backsplash.
