Sticky spout

We have a Kohler kitchen faucet only 6 months old. It has become difficult to rotate the spout from side to side. It is single lever, high rise, with a pull out in the spout.

Why does that happen and what is the remedy?

Some locations have "hard water" and this leaves all sorts of crud on pipe connections which builds up. After a period of time, it looks like the corrosion on a car's battery terminals.

This will make valves difficult to turn and spouts difficult to move.

Other areas have all sorts of different things in the water. If you have city water, go ask the city what is in the water which is causing this. If well water, ask a local well driller what is in the water.

A water softener might help. And a whole house "spin down" screen water filter can filter out tiny particles and keep faucet screens and the toilet happily working.

If you have old metal pipes, the source of tiny particles could be from the house pipes themselves. In that case, install spin down screen water filters at each sink/toilet.

Call Kohlers technical help line---have the model number---they are very helpful and will send parts if needed----You have a nylon bushing that is bad---that's my guess.
