Question

standard toilet bowl floor plan

i am not being successful using Google to find a multilayered floor plan of a toilet bowl that shows the position of the sewer hole in the bottom in perspective of the bowl and the seat above it.

in other words, i am trying to project where the bounds of the bowl/seat will be on the cement board around the existing flange. the reason i am trying to do that is to determine the optimal position of the TP holder (go ahead and laugh).

can anybody point or attach a floor plan that would help me draw these contours on my floor and simulate the positioning?

thanks

excellent question. the reason is that i like to put a horizontal 2x4 in the back where it will hang in order for the holder to be fastened into it through the cement board and not just screwed in the cement board. another reason is that the holder, due to its design, may have to be installed before tile, with tile going around

Ok so what's your point? I've set a toilet in place with nothing on the walls, sat on the toilet and pretended to reach for the roll to figure out where to put the backer.
It's not going to matter if it's off by a few inches.

Toilet sits roughly 15" off the floor.

The front of a toilet sits roughly 30" from the rear wall.

Put 2x8 all over the place in the area that you THINK the toilet paper holder should go and you will be close enough.

just dry set toilet if that big of a concern and sit on it and get that perfect tp spot. just remember to remove toilet before someone else uses toilet.

Go to a showroom at a plumbing wholesaler. Ask to see a spec sheet for your toilet. They should have them.

Just do yourself a favor and get a "comfort height" toilet. You will never regret it. After that sit there and figure out where you want the tp holder.
