Spout w/diverter question

I was looking to purchase one of these for a shower tub and noticed that the the diverter handle seemed pretty flimsy on all the ones I saw. Once you pull it up it kind of just falls right back down without any help at all. Are they all like this or is it just the cheap ones?

Spout w/diverter question

You pull it up with the water turned on and the suction will hold it in place until the water is turned off. And yes, many are like that, and they often leak. Delta makes one that you pull down. Same principle but it is spring loaded and seems to work better longer.

Spout w/diverter question

I did see some deltas but they're the slip fit kind. Do you know if they'll work even though I have a threaded pipe?

Spout w/diverter question

Delta does make a model that is listed as a "universal" type. This spout comes with a couple of adapters which allow it to be used on 1/2" or 3/4" threaded pipe, and 1/2" or 3/4" ridgid copper. I dollar or two more and you get all of those nice parts left over to put in an old coffee can. Good Luck, David
