spinning sink faucet

I have an older style cast iron kitchen sink. The faucet is antique style (but brand new) with seperate handles for hot and cold water. The handles seem to have become loose. If you push too hard while turning off the water, the knobs will spin all the way around with out turning off the water. I cant seem to find anything to tighten when I remove the handles. Any ideas?

Brand new! If you installed it you might want to go over you're install steps. Hopefully, you still have the literature and you could contact the manufacturer for help. There are so many types of faucets it's hard to determine the problem. Make sure the hot and cold valve bodies didn't loosen up.
