Snap cutter not safe on old cast iron pipe?

I just opened up the slab under my shower and am looking at 2" cast iron pipe and trap (I think it is 2", it is @ 2.5" across). I'm thinking about renting a snap cutter to remove it but I've heard snap cutter can crack or otherwise damage old pipe. I need this pipe intact.
Is it too risky to use a snap cutter? I know they are fast.

One user here mentions that a hacksaw can be a safe option.

If the pipe is so rotten that it crushes instead of snaps---then it need replacing any ways----

If you decide to try a saws all---get cast iron cutting blades----you may need to go to a plumbing supply--

An angle grinder does a nice job cutting cast----I've even made cuts with a diamond grinder blade when that was all I had---odd--it didn't wreck the blade---

Snap cut is the best way, cleanest cut, no sparks or powder that will rust anything it touches.
