Sluggish toilet

I have two toilets on ground level floor, the one furthest away from the septic system is very sluggish when flushing,if I plunge it vigorously it flushes better but not perfectly, could this possibly be a vent pipe problem??? I had the system pumped 2 months ago,as I thought that was the problem,at times it is so sluggish that it wont flush through solids. All help appreciated.

If it is an older toilet, the jet flush holes get clogged with calcium deposits over time. CLR will dissolve them quickly. Not sure how that stuff is on septic systems, however. Check the label.

5 gal bucket

by the way 5 gal buckets are 4 to 4.5 gal buckets. fill 1/2 or so, dump in stool. don't run it over. if water goes down, good. now do it over, but throw in 5 or 6 pieces of toilet paper let them get wet. now dump your water in. if this goes down, good. your stool or drain is not plugged. it may be be a tad bit slower but if you have a blockage it will stop or almost so. if drain is clear check you water level in reservoir adjust for more water, if possible. rim holes can be cleaned but i've never found that to work very well. inside of casting has the same build up, water is slowed way down.............if stool is plugged. the first thing to do is get a 1 1/2" or 2" mirror at the napa store. stick it the stool, use you flashlight and see if you can see anything. if so can you grab it? if your hand won't work, use tongs like you use to cook spaghetti, bend them. bend pieces of wire. if not back to napa store. tell clerk what your doing. tell him the hooks are with cotter key removers. they will have a screwdriver type handle. get the big one. take your hook home and hook what ever is in there................if that doesn't work, you can rent or buy a closet auger. don't scratch the stool..............if that doesn't work you will need to remove stool.................i stool is fine, you will need to snake the line. have fun breid

Sluggish Toilet

I have already cleaned the holes around the toilet rim some were calcified,h20 level in tank has been raised. Flush valve is working O.K. is it possible the roof vent is obstructed there is a large oak tree above it....seems though it would be very hard for leaves to get in and obstruct the vent pipe ??????

Vent pipes can be the home of spider webs or just cobwebs. A few leaves falling on top these webs can block the piping. Only way to know is a visual inspection. You stated the flush valve was working properly, but is the flapper allowing all the water to exit the tank before closing? This causes a "short flush".
