My bathroom sink, a vessel sink, drains really slowly at first and then after about 2-3 inches of water builds up suddenly starts draining really fast, almost making a sucking noise. Then it looks like the water only drains down as far as the bottom of the sink instead of further down.
Whats going on?
I can post a video of it later if an example is needed.
its been like this since we moved in a couple months ago. The sink is new; part of a remodel done before we moved in.
Here is a video of it in action.
The sink starts to back up, draining very slowly, and then at some critical mass or something suddenly rapidly drains and then starts to backup again. Rinse and repeat... http://youtu.be/nue-_TiO0Qo
I agree with Eplumber, replace the strainer. Looks like this one takes longer than expected to allow the water break through the holes.
