Sink no longer draining after cleaning trap
An upstairs bathroom sink had been draining slowly but then began to leak water. Cleaned out the trap (it was a clogged mess) but also felt up the pipe a touch where the condensation line for our AC taps in. That felt clogged/gunky so used hanger wire to try to clean it some.

Put pipes back together and sink no longer leaks but it doesn't drain either; the water sits in the sink bowl. The water DOES make it to the trap because when taken back apart the water drained.

Does this mean I have a clog further down the line or is there some sort of vacuum that is taking place?

Thank you!

Most likely there is a clog further on, possibly aggravated when you poked into the pipe further on and compacted stuff down there.

One other possibility, the vent pipe attached to the drain well behond the traps of all the fixtures is clogged between there and the upper end above your roof.

Thank you! Yes, we snaked the wall side and we now have draining water. I appreciate your response.
