Sink fills with water from dishwasher

Why does my sink (where the DW drains through) fill with cloudy water when my DW is operating?

I bought a new plunger and marked it only for 'sinks' and used that once and it seemed to work for a short time.

Hoping I can do something without paying a plumber.

Also, even tho this happens does it matter if I continue to use the DW?

thanks

You have a restricted drain line
Disassemble your trap and make sure its clear. If it still runs slow, you'll need to cable the kitchen drain line. You can rent small power augers

thanks, that sounds like something I could do. I've taken the bathrm sink drain apart when jewlery went down it.

When I put it back together should I use some stuff I recently bought, "Plumbers Dope", on the joint?

My bathroom sink just started draining slow so I was going to buy a little auger thing anyway.

Pipe dope won't hurt but is usually not required for traps. Good alignment when fitting the parts back together is critical though- good luck
