Shower to tub knob (possible bad install)
Excuse the lack of proper terms. I am an excellect electrician, but stink at plumbing.
About a month ago, I replaced all three knobs in my bathtub / shower.
I had a drip, but while trying to replace the washers, I tore up all the sleeves so bad that I just bought an entire replacement kit, and replaced the stems for all three knobs.
My left and right knobs are for hot and cold water. The center knob diverts the water for either shower or tub. I replaced this carterage as well.
All worked fine for several weeks. Now the center knob will not divert the water to either the shower of tub with any force.
Before I tear the plumbing apart again, does anyone have any suggestions for what I may have done wrong?
All you can do is take it apart and see what is going on with it.
What brand is it?
If you are just taking the shower diverter out, you won't need to turn off the water to the house. Just don't turn on the hot or the cold water while you have it out, or you're gonna get sprayed.
Thanks for your responses. I tried to get the guts of the diverter out today and the carterage would not come out of the wall.
As some good luck would have it however, when I put everything else back on the diverter is for some unknown reason working now.
Lets hope it lasts.
