Shower to tub drain

I am changing a stand up shower to a bathtub. It is raised 6" and the drain lines up fairly close, however I have the shower flange protruding about 2" above the concrete floor that needs converted to a tub drain, Are they just screw or glued onto the drain pipe? Since I have that 2" to work with I'm hopeing I dont have to break concrete but I have no clue how its conected and dont care to break anything gettin that sucker off.
