Shower Taps

Hi Fellas
Have not been here in quite awhile so you know what that means.I have a problem,a plumbing problem,so here goes and hope you can help.We would like to change the taps and shower spout in our 25 year old fiberglass shower stall.the rings and hanles are really dated.We would like to change them to a brushed nickel finish.The taps are a seperate hot and cold setup,the brand is Waltec.Do we need to replace the guts and all for this or can you buy taps and rings that will fit for the exsiting Waltec system?

It will be a LOT easier to just update the trims,if they are available.

Contact the Manufacturer and see if new trims are available.

Mike I did as you suggested and contacted Waltec regarding an upgraded trim package for the shower stall which does not need a diverter as it only is for a shower stall,they have only one option in a chrome finish and chrome knobs. Can you not just buy different trim packages that contain flanges,hubs and knobs or leavers that fit the current rough plumbing from other manufacturers in different finishes.Buy the way it turns out Waltec here in Canada is owned by Delta which I think is owned by Masco (sp)

Post a picture if you can---It is rare that one brand of trims would fit another hakers valve---but it is possible---you may need to go shopping with your trims and see--

Okay Fellas here are some pictures of the present trim and rough plumbing (brass pieces) we want to stay with the current two tap system and shower spout there is no diverter as there is no tub just the shower stall.Just would like to clear up that we just want something that will fit the current rough plumbing,would prefer something in a brushed nickel finish or dull chrome.We would also like to replace those ugly acrylic knobs ,maybe levers.What I am wondering is there just has to be something after market that will fit,maybe by another manufacturer.

Went to Home Depot today and got some universal fitting knobs.I will try them out once the shower stall is set up from the resurfacing.
