Shower Plumbing Help (Shower Arm)

I hope someone has a solution to my problem. The male shower arm that threads into the female fitting in the drywall broke off. The arm appeared to metal - bronze is my guess. I have a portion of the male piece stuck in the female fitting preventing replacement with a new shower arm. It sheared off perfectly - no lip to grab with pliers. My guess is that an 1/8 or 1/4 inch is in the female fitting.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to remove?
