Shower Plumbing
Hi Guys, New here and need some help putting in a new shower. I have a 1/2 bath, which I propose to install a shower stall in. It's on the main level of the house, with a basement underneath. So we have access to the underside. The question is: What is the proper drain plumbing for a shower? Sizes, types of fixtures etc.. I've done plenty of the supply plumbing, but never done the drains on anything in the floor. My house has all CPVC and PVC plumbing now. Any help, even if you could direct me to a source for info. would be greatly appreciated.

You will want a 2" drain for a shower. Depending on what type of shower you are doing, you will need a drain kit to go with that shower. You will also need to install a trap under the shower.

The hard part will be venting, as you will need to tie into an existing vent line or run a new one through the roof.
