Shower Panels?

A while back you guys gave me some good advice on shower valves....(Delta and Moen being the top picks)

So....I'm looking....and comeing across shower panels....this is an example...

http://www.amazon.com/Vigo-Industries-VG08001-System-Shower/dp/B003D4W87S/ref=sr_1_4?s=kitchen-bath&ie=UTF8&qid=1345906579&sr=1-4&keywords=shower+panel+system

But they obviously don't have a Delta valve in them.

Who makes their valves? Are these good units?

I naturally tend to avoid the 'all in one' items....if one item fails, 'all' of it fails....

Advice? Experience?

Shower Panels?

Do you have at least 3/4 supplys avalible to that area.
Going to need them to get enough flow.

Shower Panels?

These types of panels are OK for upgrades to existing homes. I installed one similar a year ago. Owner purchased it through HD. We fed it with 1/2" supplies at a max 60psi(well) I wanted to go 3/4 but the owner did not want to pay.
She originally wanted a nice Moen set up but she couldn't meet the water demand. Vigo's website says 1/2 will supply that valve.
But, if I was in your shoes, I would not go this route. You have the chance to install a decent Moen, Delta, Grohe, etc. I wouldn't compromise. You'll be reminded of your choice every morning.

I haven't ran the supply yet.....I was going to run 3/4 up to a spot between the tub and shower...then split off to 1/2"......

I have some access issues....I'm concerned I can get a 3/4" up to the valve.

eplumber....I've also heard that Grohe is good....

Shower Panels?

For a new shower installation I would never recommend putting something like this in.

It looks like an afterthought.

Obviously something like this is an extra 1000 compared to what you have listed.....

http://www.us.kohler.com/us/Luxury-p...egoryId=431245

It will be more work to get it installed, but your finished product will end up being so much nicer, and i bet you will be happier too.

Once you get that stuff in the wall you have a name brand valve that isn't going to fail on you, and you can get parts for it later if you need to.

If you decide to go custom like this, i might steer away from delta, if i remember correctly, out of moen, delta, kohler, the delta valves are not available with a 3/4" inlet.
