Shower pan installation on a slab?

I am remodeling the shower in the downstairs bath. Demo has been completed, shower pan has been ordered, and has arrived. The drain in in the wrong place but I have a roto-hammer to move it to the new pan's location. Once I have the drain line extended to the correct place, I'll be ready to connect the drain to the new pan. How does one accomplish this feat if it is on a concrete slab?

Specifics will vary by makers instructions, but in short...
the installation process is the reverse of what you did removing the old pan.

How about a picture of your trap and such?

Hello,

The previous pan was a 1965 poured affair that leaked badly. It is my experience that acrylic pans do not leak. The trap and drain pipe are buried in concrete, but I will roto-hammer it out. If there is no trap, I will install one.

The gentleman at Lowe's plumbing nicely explained extending the drain to the correct location and installing a screw in receptacle at the drain terminus. Setting the pan, and then screwing the pan side of the drain into the receptacle.

Gotcha. When I read in post#1 that "Demo has been completed" I thought that it meant you had gotten down to the pipe fittings.

With piping that old... it is probably rusty galvanized steel as well.
You may be doing a fair bit more trenching before you're really done with the demo.
