Shower mixing valve

Is there a stop in the mixing valve the handle is now in a different position and after Turing on the water it stops(the water) halfway, then comes on again

Shower mixing valve

Each valve manufacturer has different way to control the on/off.
You will need to pull the handle to see if the stop broke or wore off and how your particular valve works.
