Shower into a bathtub
I have gutted my master bath that was a center shower drain but want to convert it into a bathtub, is this possible without digging up the drain and replacing it? If it is can someone give advice on how to go about doing this.

Thank you in advice,

You are going to need a new drain---open the floor!--Mike--

Here is where I am at on this journey although I have made some progress since the latest pictures posted. Are you talking about an alcove tub, drop in or freestanding? The alternative to moving your shower drain would be build your tub alcove/frame around the old shower drain, space providing. Also tubs typically use a 1 1/2" drain whereas showers typically use a 2" so you are probably going to have to do something whth that old shower drain. Another one of those "pictures would help" scenarios I think.

Uh, yeah what Mike said.

shower to bathtub
I will be putting in a slide in bathtub. So since my drain is in the center I would have to relocate everything to accommodate the bathtub correct?

Thanks all

Yes and don't forget you are going from a 2 inch diameter down to a 1 1/2 inch diameter drain but that would become evident once you got the tub in place.
