Shower head install question

Hi. I just purchased a Waterpik shower wand/head unit and installed it per the instructions and have a question.
Where the hose comes out of the wand mount bracket, which is also where the vacuum breaker is located in the hose, when I shut off the water the water leaks out of this area. Is this the way this vacuum breaker is designed to operate? It is not leaking out of the threads so I do not believe pipe tape is the issue.
Thank you.
Chris

You sure its not a water saver shutoff/valve? Either way it is designed to drip from the show head so that you do not get scalded when turning the water back on.

RE: Shower head install question

Did you try removing the entire mounting from the shower head and retightening it? You could also use some tape over the existing threads and see if that stops the problem. If not, I'd just exchange the entire unit for a new one - it may be a factory defect.
