Shower Faucets - AAArgghhhh!!!!

What is up with shower faucets these days??? Why is it so hard(expensive) to find a faucet that I can control the AMOUNT of water and the temp of the water?

I am talking about the single control "levers", obiously.

25 years ago, I lived in a house that had a single lever. You pushed it up and down for the volume control, and twisted it left to right for the temp control.

Now, I go into Lowes, and 98% of the faucets do not let you control the volume of water.... WHY NOT!?!?!?!??!?! The only ones that do are like $300...

What is up with this? It is not new technology.

easy to do until the government thought they could help us since we are helpless and created new codes requiring temp control with pressure balance that took care of the price. huh why is it no one can can get ahead wait no worries the government will help with that to look how they helped with house loans:whistli ng2:
look at delta 1700 series might have to go to a plumbing wholesaler or order online great valve easy and light on the wallet to repair since they send you the parts for free. with lots of color choices

I'd look to a REAL plumbing supply store for something like that, not a box store. I have exactly what you say and it cost me $130 is all. It's worth it though, we NEVER get "toilet shock" either in temperature rise or fall nor loss of pressure when someone flushes. ....and we use a "Flushmate" pressure assisted toilet too.
