Hi guys:
I have another quick plumbing question. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. I'm trying to install the shower controls on a new bathroom in my house. The recessed part of the control (thats not supposed to poke out past the tile) is sticking out about an inch. Also, the person I hired to do the tiling cut out too much of the greenboard behind the shower control and consequently I'm also trouble installing the screws that are supposed to hold the back of the shower control in place.
Is there a quick solution to this? Just need to get the shower functioning as soon as possible for a tenant. I was thinking about using liquid nails to glue a piece of PVC liner to the edges of tile and the actual handle of the shower control (thus creating a watertight seal). This would look pretty ghetto, but at least water wouldnt be leaking behind the wall when the tenant went to take a shower. Basically, it would look just like the shifter on some manual transmission cars that have the leather cover over the gearbox attached to the shifter. Does this make any sense? Do you guys think it will work?
