Shower Base

We are trying to install a new shower base (prefab fiberglass) and it has a styrofoam unit attached to the underside of the base - is it supposed to be installed with the styrofoam in place or removed? - it's loosely glued on to the base.

If it is glued on, I would say it stays. Contact the manufacturer, or get the directions out of the trash can. They should also tell you if it needs a mortar bed.

Shower Base

I would say it stays, for support.

My shower had nothing under it and it was flexible , to flexible meaning going to crack.

I filled the void with expanding foam now it's solid as a rock.

Shower Base

Go to the manufacturers website. I'm sure you'll find the info there.
