Sewer vent

I have a 2 1/2 cast iron pipe that runs from where the sewer enters the basement runs half-way across the basement through the wall to the roof. No sinks, showers etc are attached to this. There's 2 clean-outs 2 ft from where this pipe is located and the main 4" line also goes to the roof also. I need to either remove or move this line as it's in the way of alot of projects. I'd really like to cut it off and cap it but I can rerun in a better location if need be. Unless it's old code I don't see why it's needed. Opinions?

Sewer vent

I'm not a pro plumber, just a long-time DIYer.
My question would be "is it some kind of vent for a floor drain or whole house trap?"

Sewer vent

The floor drain is after the whole house trap, the trap is also where the clean-outs are. The floor drain I think is completely clogged up though.
