SEWER CLOGS and DRAIN CABLES

I have some rentals where the main gets clogged at times (seems to happen a couple times per year. The SEWER CLEANOUT company guy comes, takes out a heavy duty drill hammer and attaches a drain cable of about 25 feet. Feeds into main and sometimes then connects another 25 ft section. It costs between $150 - 350 each time .... (I spend maybe $750+ for my 5 properties ...mostly 2-4unit size) ....

so I am thinking of saving some money and doing this myself but need set-up suggestions from the group. I think I want a cable with a core as that is what the guy uses. I do not know how the drill hammer holds the cable...need help here AND suggested sizing of the heavy duty drill hammer.

The waste tends to be simple paper and general waste.

THANKS
