Set Back

Just a chance someone might have this info in memory bank. How far back from backer board plus tile should a block for attaching the valve of a one handle shower (Delta 17230) be nailed?:(

Do you have the direction? Or the rough in plate that comes with the valve? If not you can probably find the directions pretty easially. It's going to depend on how thick your backer board and tile is going to be.

Delta valve installation

Is there a prize?:)
I'm not familiar with a 17240, but all of Delta's new tub/shower sets use the same rough in valve, a R10000. The face of the blocking/stringer for the R10000 valve needs to be 2 3/4" from the finished wall. So figure out the total thickness of everything that's going on the studs and do the math and you should be good. If you don't get it perfect, don't worry, there is a little room for adjustment on the trim.

Thanks for the info. I'll grab a piece of backerboard and tile and measure accordingly, should be very close.
