septic vent

Im having major problems with my plumbing or septic really dont dont know what it is?

normal septic tank does not need a vent. Check the auto air vent under the sink. It may have failed in the open position.

It will look like one of these if there is one under the sink.

Other things that can cause it is a dry trap under the sink and a block vent.

Has the sink been making a gurgling noise latly.

Take a straw and suck some water up into it, put your finger over the tip of it and lift it out of the glass. What happened? Now remove your finger. The water goes down right?

That's how a sewer vent works in the drains in the house. The vent goes from the drain system up through the roof in most cases. It lets sewer gas out and when water goes down the drain it lets air in so it will drain.
If the vents plugged up and you try to drain the sink or a toilet flushes it has to get air some how, so it can suck the water out of the trap under the sink trying to drain.
Water in a trap acts like a check valve holding back the sewer gas.
