Scalding Hot in Shower

Hi

I went to take a shower this morning and the water was scalding hot - we use this shower daily.

I tried the sink and the shower in our other bathroom it was fine.

So my question is do you think the cartridge is gone in the shower?

Any other suggestions?

thanks

Smitty

It would help to know what brand of mixer you have----But---yes--likely failure of the cartridge---

Scalding Hot in Shower

Sounds like the anti scald valve is stuck inside the unit.

Scalding Hot in Shower

Well I went home and took apart the handle assembly - got down to the cartridge - I tried and tried but could not get it out - so I decided to I would put the pin back in and give it a try - well the shower runs perfect - hot and cold and warm....I must have loosened something up when I took it apart.

So I reassembled it and it is back in working order.

Thanks for your help
