Sacrificial anode replacement.

Trying to replace the sacrificial anode on my 6 gallon propane RV water heater. It has a standard 1 - 1/16 inch hex nut like a standard home water heater. Cannot budge it; tried WD-40 and a pipe extension- no luck. This is a 20+ year old unit and I doubt the anode has ever been replaced. Anyone have any tricks to get these things out?

just a cheater bar. but if it's already 20 years old it would be a good idea to just replace it.

Careful using a cheater... Those tanks are not very strong and you may tear the wall if you turn it too hard. I used a 3/8 impact on my 2003 Wildcat and after a few minutes alternating between loosening and tightening it came off. I put some lithium grease on it when I put it back on.
